Everyone boasts. In fact, you were made to boast. You are wired to have outbursts of adoration, exclamations of awe and wonder. But the nature of sin is to take all of our God-given desires and impulses for glory, and to turn them in on ourselves. "But let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth" (Jeremiah 9:24).
